A 25-year-old Markham man on parole for previous firearm offences has been arrested after Durham Regional Police discovered a loaded handgun, large quantities of drugs, and cash during a house search last week.
Officers executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence in Markham shortly before 9 p.m. on Oct. 24, seizing a loaded firearm, more than 1,000 grams of fentanyl, along with significant amounts of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine. Police also recovered approximately $100,000 in cash.
The accused now faces multiple firearms-related charges in addition to three counts of drug trafficking. Durham police described the man’s arrest as part of a concerning pattern of reoffending. The investigation remains ongoing.
