The investigation into the murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal has taken a fresh turn after the lawyer for prime accused Siya Goyal denied reports claiming she had secretly married co-accused Chetan Chaudhary before Agarwal’s death.
Advocate Vipul Dushing, representing Goyal, issued a statement on Tuesday rejecting media reports that alleged Goyal and Chaudhary had married nearly four months before the murder. He said there was “no substance” to the claims and denied that any such marriage had taken place.
The denial comes after reports citing sources claimed investigators were examining whether Goyal and Chaudhary had secretly solemnized their marriage while keeping it hidden from their families. The reports further alleged that the marriage took place despite Goyal’s engagement to Agarwal in February, while wedding preparations with Agarwal’s family were still underway.
According to sources, investigators are also looking into claims that two of Goyal’s college friends may have signed as witnesses to the alleged marriage. Police technical teams are reportedly attempting to recover deleted photographs from a private Instagram account that allegedly showed Goyal and Chaudhary wearing wedding garlands.
Investigators believe the recovery of those images, if successful, could help verify whether the alleged marriage took place. However, Goyal’s legal team has dismissed the reports entirely.
The case remains under investigation, with police continuing to examine digital evidence, witness claims, and the relationship between the accused.
