Actor is best known for his role as ‘Han’ in “The Fast and Furious” franchise
Toronto — The Canadian International AutoShow was proud to host filmmaker and car enthusiast Sung Kang, known for his role as Han in “The Fast and the Furious” film franchise, who shared a sneak peek of his upcoming feature film “DRIFTER” and participated in a Q&A about his new movie, favourite cars and more at a special media event today.

Kang wrote, directed and starred in “DRIFTER” – the story of a solitary janitor who finds redemption and belonging through the competitive drifting scene. Coming soon to theaters worldwide, the film reflects his belief that cars can bring people together through creativity and purpose.

“I’m grateful to be in Toronto for the Canadian International Auto Show,” Kang said. “DRIFTER is a project born out of a global passion for car culture. Bringing a preview here to Canada and meeting the fans is a major step in our journey toward the film’s worldwide release.”
Fans can meet Sung Kang and learn about “DRIFTER” at the PASMAG Garage and Toyota displays
· On February 18-20 at the PASMAG Garage display, located on level 100 of the show’s North building, visitors can get a behind-the-scenes look at “DRIFTER” and see a local stand-in for the film’s hero car “Lola,” a Toyota Corolla AE86, up close. Fans can explore the craftsmanship behind the cars, experience the excitement of drifting culture brought to life on the show floor and hear about the film before its official release. Exclusive DRIFTER t-shirts and posters will also be available, and Kang will make special appearances throughout the days.
- At 5:30 pm on February 18-20, Kang will also hold daily Q&A sessions and meet fans at the Toyota display on level 800 of the South building.

About DRIFTER
DRIFTER is an independently produced feature film written, directed by and starring SUNG KANG. In the sun-bleached, working-class town of Barstow, California, Tree (Kang) lives a solitary existence, haunted by a blind eye and the crushing weight of a generational family debt. By day, he invisibly mops the floors of Willow Springs Raceway. But in the quiet hours of dusk and dawn, he finds his voice behind the wheel of his battered but beloved 1980s Toyota AE86 Corolla, pushing the limits of control in the art of drifting. An unexpected opportunity thrusts him into “Legends of Drift,” a professional competition that offers a one-in-a-million shot at escaping his predetermined life. DRIFTER also features actor/drivers Adam LZ, James Pumphrey, Rutledge Wood, and Dai Yoshihara, alongside award-winning actors Tamara Braun, Gregory Cruz, Michael Nehring, Grant Sullivan, and McCaleb Burnett.
