York Regional Police are searching for multiple suspects who fled on foot after a home invasion and robbery near Bayview Avenue and 16th Avenue in Richmond Hill late Thursday night.
The call came in around 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 4, prompting a major response that included frontline officers, the K9 unit, and the police helicopter. Despite an extensive aerial and ground search, investigators say they were unable to locate the suspects, who are believed to have escaped the neighbourhood due to the heavy police presence.
Police confirmed that the residents inside the home were not physically injured. Officers will continue canvassing the community, with both uniformed and plainclothes personnel expected to go door to door to gather video footage and speak with potential witnesses.
York Regional Police are urging anyone with home surveillance recordings or dash-cam footage from the area to come forward as the investigation remains active.
