The 24 th annual Trillium Diwali Gala took place on Friday,
October 17 th , raising a record-breaking amount of over $1.3 million in support of the future Shah
Family Hospital for Women and Children – Ontario’s first hospital focused entirely on women’s and
children’s health – and The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital – which will be Canada’s largest
hospital upon completion.
“Being able to exceed our fundraising goal for this event is a remarkable accomplishment and
speaks to the unwavering dedication of our community in supporting a bold vision for the future of
health care in Mississauga, the Greater Toronto Area and Canada,” says Caroline Riseboro,
President and CEO of Trillium Health Partners Foundation. “This year, funds raised will support the
Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children and The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital so that
we can continue providing world-class care to an increasingly growing community.”
Over the last 24 years, the Trillium Diwali Gala has raised a cumulative total of over $16 million in
support of Trillium Health Partners. The event is Canada’s first and longest-running Diwali Gala,
bringing community members together to support the health care needs of Mississauga and the
Greater Toronto Area.
More than 1,100 esteemed guests attended, including sponsors, community members, volunteers
and Trillium Health Partners and Trillium Health Partners Foundation staff members. Political
dignitaries in attendance included Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney, Premier of Ontario Doug
Ford and Mayor of Mississauga Carolyn Parrish.
Funds raised throughout the evening included over $283,000 to purchase three new OmniBeds for
Trillium Health Partners’ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, exceeding the original goal of two. These
lifesaving, state-of-the-art units combine an incubator and warmer in one, creating a safe, stable
environment for premature babies, while giving care teams easy access for urgent treatment. Each
OmniBed helps give the tiniest patients the best possible start in life.
Trillium Health Partners, which comprises Mississauga Hospital, Credit Valley Hospital and
Queensway Health Centre, serves a community that is expected to grow by 45% by 2041, facing
more growth in demand than any other hospital in Ontario.

The night’s entertainment included musicians Sonaali Goel – singing the Canadian national anthem,
Vidya Vox and Nihal Singh, award-winning professional dance company Sampradaya Dance
Creations, and DJ Baba Kahn.
Global News Anchor Colin D’Mello hosted the event, returning as the evening’s emcee for his
seventh consecutive year.
Guests were also able to partake in the event’s online silent auction, bidding on luxurious products
like vacations, jewelry, sporting event tickets, houseware, electronics, and more.
