235 JOBS CREATED, LATEST PRODUCTS AND SERVICES FEATURED AT NEW WAREHOUSE
Costco Wholesale opened a new location in Northwest Toronto today – in the Rexdale neighbourhood of Etobicoke, located at 2260 Islington Avenue off of Highway 401. The new warehouse – Costco’s 21st location in the Greater Toronto Area – has created 135 new full-time jobs and 100 new seasonal jobs, and an opportunity for residents to benefit from the convenience and savings provided by a Costco membership.
“With the opening of this new warehouse, we can serve all of our members in the Northwest Toronto and surrounding area and bring new consumers and businesses to uncover the benefits of a Costco membership,” said Gino Dorico, Senior Vice-President and Country Manager, Costco Wholesale Canada. “We are very proud to share this new location with our valued members and member businesses in the local community and throughout the area.”
The new 164,162 square-foot location features wide aisles and an extensive selection of food offerings. It also includes a large variety of specialty departments, such as an on-site bakery, fresh meat, expansive produce area, rotisserie chicken section, optical centre – including an on-site independent optometrist – a hearing aid centre, five tire centre bays, large food court, gas station with 24 pumps and a pharmacy. With 12 checkout registers and a new self-checkout section with 9 stations, the warehouse features 1,200 shopping carts and 1,200 parking spots in a multi-level underground parking garage with elevator access – a first for Costco in Eastern Canada.
Like all other Costco Wholesale warehouses, the Northwest Toronto location offers more than 3,800 high-quality items at unbeatable value. The company provides a wide range of products and services for members’ personal use and helps small and medium-size businesses save on both supplies and items for resale.
Some of the promotions being offered at the new Northwest Toronto warehouse during opening week include $200 off a Samsung 55-inch TV, $60 off a La-Z-Boy Manager Chair and $50 off an 11-piece GreenPan cookware set.
Costco Wholesale is open to members only. The annual fee is $60 for a Business Membership or $60 for a Gold Star Membership. All Costco Wholesale memberships include a FREE household card, and are valid at Costco locations around the world.
At an annual fee of $120 per year, Costco also offers an enhanced Executive Membership that includes a 2% reward (up to $1,000 annually) on all qualifying Costco purchases and a FREE household card.
