Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will travel to London on Friday to meet with European leaders for discussions on military support, air defense, and long-term security guarantees for Ukraine.
Hosted by U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer , the summit will address bolstering Ukraine’s defenses ahead of winter, protecting energy infrastructure, and funding reconstruction efforts.
The talks come as Western nations tighten sanctions on Russia’s energy sector and push to increase Ukraine’s access to advanced weaponry, including longer-range missiles.
Starmer urged unity among allies, saying, “Putin has rejected every diplomatic overture. We must remain steadfast in our support for Ukraine until peace is achieved.”
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte , as well as European leaders from Denmark and the Netherlands, will attend the meeting. The coalition is expected to discuss forming a “reassurance force” to secure Ukraine’s airspace and territorial waters in a potential postwar settlement.
