36 th Parkinson Canada SuperWalk takes place in communities across Canada this September

Every step moves us forward to a world where no one is limited by Parkinson’s

TORONTO, ON – More than 2,500 people across Canada will be lacing up on September 6 th and 7 th for the 36 th annual Parkinson Canada SuperWalk. Since 1990, the Parkinson’s community comes together every September to raise crucial funds and awareness for people living with Parkinson’s and their care partners. To date, SuperWalk has raised more than $45 million towards Parkinson’s research, advocacy and resources.

Held in more than 30 locations coast to coast, SuperWalk is the largest fundraiser for Parkinson’s in Canada and a powerful movement for the community. Participants can walk together at one of the designated locations, or “Walk your Way” with self-directed fundraising events.

“SuperWalk is a unifying moment for communities to come together in support of people living with Parkinson’s and their care partners,” says Scott McMillan, Senior Director of Events, Stewardship, and Partnerships at Parkinson Canada. “The funds raised help ensure that people in Canada living with Parkinson’s can live with courage, connection and empowerment through access to crucial support.”

In Canada, more than 110,000 people live with Parkinson’s, and that number is projected to grow to 150,000 by 2034.

“With more people in Canada feeling the impact of Parkinson’s, the need for reliable support and resources continues to rise,” says McMillan. “The walk is driven by our community, and it’s through the generosity of donors and volunteers that Parkinson Canada can respond and provide these essential programs.”
