Sonia Sidhu Highlights Strong Spring Parliament Session Delivering for Brampton South Families

Sonia Sidhu, Member of Parliament for Brampton South, marked the conclusion of the spring sitting of Parliament by highlighting important progress made to support families, strengthen communities, and improve affordability for Canadians.

Throughout the session, the Federal Government advanced a series of measures focused on making life more affordable, enhancing public safety, and building a more resilient economy.

“Our focus this spring has been on delivering real, meaningful support for families here in Brampton South,” said Sidhu. “We have taken steps to make communities safer, help with the rising cost of living, and create opportunities for long-term growth.”

Delivering Key Results for Canadians

During the spring session, several important pieces of legislation were passed:

  • Strengthening Community Safety (Bill C‑14)
    New measures to strengthen bail laws and address repeat violent offending, helping to keep communities safe.
  • Supporting Victims and Survivors (Bill C‑16)
    Enhanced protections and improved access to supports for victims of crime, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  • Helping Families with Cost of Living (Bill C‑19)
    Targeted financial support to assist low- and middle-income Canadians with the cost of groceries and essential goods.
  • Advancing Canada’s Economic Plan (Bills C‑15 & C‑30)
    Investments to support jobs, small businesses, health care, and infrastructure while strengthening long-term economic stability.
  • Building More Homes, Faster (Bill C‑20)
    Measures to accelerate housing construction and improve access to affordable housing in communities like Brampton.

Staying Connected This Summer

As Parliament adjourns for the summer, Sonia Sidhu will continue working closely with residents, community organizations, and local leaders across Brampton South.
