Punjab AAP Vows Strict Action Against Those Responsible For Anti-Drug Activist’s Murder

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has assured stringent action against those responsible for the murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota, pledging a thorough and impartial investigation as public anger intensifies across the state.

The activist’s killing in Punjab’s Mansa district on Tuesday sparked widespread outrage and renewed political criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government over law and order. Responding to the incident on Wednesday, Mann condemned the murder and directed Punjab Police to investigate all aspects of the case, including any possible conspiracy.

Describing the killing as deeply unfortunate and unacceptable, the Chief Minister emphasized that the state government would not tolerate acts of violence or attempts to undermine public safety. He maintained that everyone involved in the crime would face appropriate legal consequences, regardless of their role.

Mann also appealed to residents across Punjab to remain peaceful amid growing tensions following the activist’s death. He stressed that the state’s youth represent its future and that maintaining law and order remains a priority for his administration.

The Chief Minister reiterated that authorities had been instructed to take decisive action against anyone found responsible and ensure that justice is delivered in accordance with the law.

The murder has intensified public concern over the safety of individuals campaigning against drug-related activities in Punjab, placing renewed scrutiny on the state government’s response to violence and its efforts to maintain public security.
