The 25th annual Trillium Diwali Gala on Friday, October 23rd raised funds to help shorten wait times, provide close-to-home care, and more doctors, nurses and operating rooms.
Mississauga, ON – October 28, 2026 – The 25th annual Trillium Diwali Gala took place on Friday, October 23rd, raising nearly $1.4 million, a record-breaking amount in support of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital – which will be Canada’s largest hospital, the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children – Ontario’s first hospital dedicated to women and children, and the redevelopment of The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre.
“For a quarter century, the Trillium Diwali Gala has shown what can be achieved when our community rallies behind health care,” says Caroline Riseboro, President and CEO, Trillium Health Partners Foundation. “Every dollar raised will become care for someone in our community: a child scanned faster in our paediatric unit, a patient diagnosed sooner in our emergency department. Just days into our Built for Us campaign, our gala attendees, donors, volunteers and sponsors are helping build the health care this fast-growing community urgently needs and on which the next generation will rely.”
Since its inception 25 years ago, the Trillium Diwali Gala has raised a cumulative total of over $17.5 million in support of Trillium Health Partners. As Canada’s first, largest and longest-running Diwali gala, the event brings community members together to support the health care needs of Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area.
1,118 esteemed guests attended, including sponsors, community members, volunteers and Team THP.
$273,840 from the evening’s Fund A Need portion will purchase three new, state-of-the-art ultrasound machines for Trillium Health Partners’ Emergency Department, operating rooms, and Paediatric Patient Care Unit.

Trillium Health Partners comprises Mississauga Hospital, Credit Valley Hospital and Queensway Health Centre, and serves a community expected to grow in size by 45% by 2041, facing more growth in demand than any other Ontario hospital.

The evening’s entertainment featured headliner Jay Sean, an international music superstar, and performers Folk’n Guys, who brought their vibrant blend of bhangra and Punjabi folk music to the celebration.
Global News anchor Colin D’Mello returned as emcee for the eighth consecutive year.
