On his maiden visit to Andhra Pradesh after the formation of the TDP-led NDA government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled several reform initiatives aimed at infrastructure, green energy, and regional development that have improved. These projects, worth over Rs 2 lakh crore, mainly focus on development in North Andhra Pradesh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to boost the income and business prospects of fishermen in Andhra Pradesh.“We are working with full dedication to improve the livelihoods of our brothers and sisters in the fisheries sector,” said Modi. He also highlighted the introduction of facilities like the ‘Kisan Credit Card’ for fishermen and efforts to enhance safety at sea. The Prime Minister stressed that the government aims to ensure inclusive growth and ensure that development reaches all segments of society.
Infrastructure and connectivity revolution for Andhra
In his speech, the Prime Minister also highlighted the tremendous progress made in the infrastructure sector, especially in the railway sector. “Andhra Pradesh has completed 100% electrification in railways, and over 70 railway stations are being developed under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Yojana’,” he noted. He also inaugurated 7 trains of Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat which have been introduced with the aim of emphasis will be placed on improving transportation and connectivity for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Vision of USD 2.5 billion economy in Andhra Pradesh
PM Modi stressed that modern infrastructure and improved connectivity would be crucial for the transformation of Andhra Pradesh. “This industry transformation will make living and doing business easier, laying the foundation for the state’s vision of a USD 2.5 trillion economy.” He reiterated the strategic importance of Visakhapatnam and the coastal areas in India’s business history and reaffirmed the government’s focus on unlocking the full potential of the blue economy.
The Prime Minister inaugurated various projects and laid foundation stones with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan during his visit to Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.
