The City of Brampton continues to strengthen its commitment to traffic safety by installing 40 new high-tech Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras. The new cameras have been deployed to replace older units, ensuring the program remains effective and impactful. These new cameras feature the industry’s leading technology, producing excellent image quality and improving road safety.
“If drivers speed, especially in areas near schools, you will get a ticket, addressing the concerns of residents regarding speeding on local roads and taking necessary action has been a priority. Implementing measures like ASE cameras, a processing center, and numerous other traffic calming measures such as speed cushions, road diets, and flexi signs are having an impact to slow those cars down.”

By June 2025, the City plans to expand the program to 185 cameras in total, representing the largest ASE program in Canada. Statistics on Brampton’s ASE program, which support investments for more cameras and the creation of additional Community Safety Zones, indicate an average decrease in vehicular speeds of 6.5 km/h across all ASE camera sites and up to 18 km/h in select locations.
