8th January 2025: Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc has made it clear he won’t be entering the race to lead the Liberal Party after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation.
Instead, LeBlanc is focused on his current responsibilities, particularly tackling the looming tariff threats from the next U.S. administration. He stressed the need to protect Canada’s economy and prevent the proposed tariffs on Canadian imports from becoming a reality.
LeBlanc’s decision reflects his dedication to managing pressing economic challenges rather than pursuing party leadership.
