Edmonton Oilers Fall 4-1 to Florida Panthers in Game 2 of Stanley Cup Finals

The Oilers suffered a 4-1 defeat to the Florida Panthers in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final at Amerant Bank Arena on Monday, trailing 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

Coach Knoblauch did not have an update on defenseman Darnell Nurse, who left the game after playing three shifts due to an undisclosed injury sustained from a hit at 8:16 of the first period.

“No,” he said. “I haven’t spoken to our medical staff yet. I’ll be meeting with them in about 15 minutes to get that report.”

The Oilers were set to fly back to Edmonton on Tuesday, with a practice scheduled for Wednesday.

Game 3 will take place at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET (ABC, ESPN+, CBC, TVAS, SN).

“The two days off before our next game give us some time to regroup and reassess what needs to be done,” Knoblauch said. “We’ll use the practice day tomorrow to work on those areas, and there will be extensive discussions with the coaching staff and management to identify improvements.”
