Filmmaker Farah Khan has sparked fresh speculation about a possible sequel to Main Hoon Na after responding playfully to Arjun Kapoor’s public request for a follow-up to the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer.
Arjun shared a clip from the 2004 film on his Instagram Stories after unexpectedly finding it playing on television while checking into a hotel. Calling Main Hoon Na one of his all-time favourite films, the actor wrote that the movie needed a sequel “ASAP” and tagged Farah in the post.
Farah reposted Arjun’s story and replied, “Hahaha… agar kisi cheez ko dil se maango… @arjunkapoor lov u.” Her response referenced the famous dialogue from Main Hoon Na, prompting fans to speculate about whether she was hinting at a potential second instalment. However, Farah has not officially announced Main Hoon Na 2.
The filmmaker has previously indicated that she is considering a return to directing. Earlier this year, Farah said in one of her vlogs that she planned to resume filmmaking after her children left for college and suggested she could begin working on a project toward the end of the year. She also said that if she returned to directing, Shah Rukh Khan would be her first choice.
Main Hoon Na marked Farah’s directorial debut and starred Shah Rukh alongside Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan and Amrita Rao. Farah later reunited with Shah Rukh for Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year. Her other feature as a director was Tees Maar Khan, starring Akshay Kumar.
For now, Farah’s exchange with Arjun appears to be a playful reference rather than confirmation of a sequel, but it has renewed discussion among fans about a possible return to the world of Main Hoon Na.
