Heartbreaking: Punjab Boy Sahilpreet Singh Dies In Industrial Accident In Brampton

Peel Regional Police say a man has died after an industrial accident in Brampton on Monday morning.

Crews were called to Orenda and Dixie roads at around 7:30 a.m.

Police said a man was pronounced dead at the scene. He is identified as Sahilpreet Singh from Punjab.

The circumstances of the industrial accident were not released, however, police said the ministry of labour has been called in to investigate.

The Ministry of Labour said it was notified of a workplace fatality at Nexcycle.

A GoFundMe page has been organized by Apraj Singh Judge.

Judge said, “He came to Canada only 4 months ago to find a better life and started working. He was the only son of his parents leaving his mother, father, and sister behind.”

“He was working at NexCycle Brampton as a general labourer, The machine he was working on got a conveyor belt, and somehow his hand got stuck and the machine pulled his full body in leading to at-the-spot death.”

“Our sincere condolences go out to the worker’s family, friends and colleagues,” the ministry said.

No other details were provided as the investigation is ongoing, the ministry said.
