The strike by truck drivers to display disagreement towards the changes in hit and run laws is called off after discussion with the home ministry. The law changed the 2 years sentence to a 10 years’ sentence including fine for a hit and run case. Ajay Bhalla said the rule isn’t implemented and is on hold. The protest was over the Section 106(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita or BNS — which is set to replace the colonial-era Indian Penal Code — which had provisions for strict penalty in hit-and-run cases.”The new laws have not been implemented.
