Osler Foundation’s 11th annual fundraising Gala Benefit Concert to be held on November 16 at The Rose Brampton
BRAMPTON/ETOBICOKE – – One of the most recognizable voices in Canadian music, Steven
Page, will play The Rose Brampton on November 16 for William Osler Health System Foundation’s Gala
Benefit Concert, presented by Orlando Corporation. The 11th annual event will raise funds in support of
William Osler Health System (Osler) hospitals: Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and
Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.
Former Barenaked Ladies vocalist, Page, will perform familiar hits and will be joined by Craig Northey of
Vancouver legends Odds on guitar, and Kevin Fox on cello. The trio will be backed by a symphony orchestra, conducted by Isaac Page. This year’s Gala Benefit Concert honours a 100-year legacy of community support for health care in Brampton, with Peel Memorial set to celebrate its centennial anniversary in 2025. Funds raised at the event will help transform Peel Memorial into Brampton’s new hospital. Money raised will also bring much-needed expanded cancer care services to Brampton Civic and help fund ongoing equipment and redevelopment needs at Etobicoke General.
“More than 100 years ago, community leaders realized the need for a new hospital, and they didn’t just say something should be done, they stepped forward to get it done—they built Peel Memorial which served generations of Bramptonians,” said Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, William Osler Health System
Foundation. “Next year, we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Peel Memorial and the desire to
create something spectacular together is greater than ever. We can see that from the early support of the Gala Benefit Concert, and we look forward to welcoming more sponsors and attendees for a great night of music.”
“Osler has the privilege of serving one of Canada’s fastest-growing municipalities, bringing with it a rich and diverse community. This rapid growth also means that we need more hospital capacity to continue providing the care our community needs and deserves,” said Dr. Frank Martino, President and CEO, William Osler Health System. “That is why we are building Brampton’s new hospital and investing in technology and resources across our sites.”
“We are proud to be part of the legacy of support for Peel Memorial and we look forward to being part of
the exciting future for William Osler Health System,” said Blair Wolk, President, Orlando Corporation.
Guests of the Gala Benefit Concert will enjoy a reception prior to the show, with a selection of gourmet
hors d’oeuvres, food stations and wine. The evening will also include a special tribute to the late Mrs. Lois Rice, one of Peel Memorial’s most passionate and beloved champions.
