This strategic agreement comes as diplomatic channels prepare for expected interactions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping. The two leaders are scheduled to meet briefly on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek, followed by a broader, formal engagement during the BRICS summit in New Delhi. While the consensus marks a structured effort to stabilize bilateral ties and maintain peace in border regions, analysts emphasize that these measures prioritize managing ground-level security rather than resolving underlying territorial disputes.
