Jayden Pitter,23, Of Brampton Identified As ‘Targeted’ Victim In Deadly Vaughan Shooting

Members of the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are releasing information about the homicide victim and two suspects after an early morning shooting at a plaza in the City of Vaughan which left one man dead and another in life-threatening condition.

On May 24, 2023, at 3:50 a.m. York Regional Police responded to a call for a shooting at an industrial plaza on Creditstone Road near Highway 7 West. Attending officers located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. One male victim was found without vital signs and was pronounced deceased. The other male victim was transported to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries. He is in stable condition.

The deceased has since been identified as Jayden PITTER, 23, of the City of Brampton.

Police are seeking two suspects who wore dark clothing at the time of the shooting, along with a suspect vehicle described as a dark-coloured, mid-size SUV. (See attached photo.)

Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting.

It is believed there were several people in the area at the time of the shooting. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to investigators are urged to come forward, along with anyone who has video footage or dashcam recordings from the area around the time of the incident.
