Jill Dunlop has been appointed as Ontario’s new education minister, taking over from Todd Smith, who stepped down from his role and resigned as a member of provincial parliament on Friday. Premier Doug Ford announced the cabinet reshuffle shortly after Smith’s resignation, naming Nolan Quinn as the new minister of Colleges and Universities, succeeding Dunlop.
Dunlop, who has served as the MPP for Simcoe North since 2018, was appointed as the minister of Colleges and Universities in 2021. Ford emphasized that the government remains committed to rebuilding Ontario’s economy, enhancing public safety, and ensuring better jobs and higher pay for workers across the province.
