Liberals Hold 19-Point National Lead Over Conservatives In Latest Nanos Tracking

The federal Liberals continue to hold a commanding lead in voter support, while economic concerns remain the top issue for Canadians, according to the latest weekly tracking from Nanos Research. The Liberals stand at 45.6 per cent support, compared with 29.1 per cent for the Conservatives, who gained 1.2 percentage points, while the NDP sits at 12.9 per cent.

Prime Minister Mark Carney also maintains a significant advantage when Canadians are asked who they prefer as prime minister. Carney is the choice of 53.6 per cent of respondents, while Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre stands at 18.0 per cent.

Nanos Research Chief Data Scientist Nik Nanos said economic issues continue to dominate Canadians’ concerns, while Canada-U.S. relations also remain a notable issue. The findings come amid continued economic uncertainty and ongoing trade tensions between Ottawa and Washington.

The Nanos weekly tracking is based on random interviews with 1,000 Canadians aged 18 and older and uses a four-week rolling average, with 250 new respondents added each week as the oldest group is removed. The sample may be weighted using the latest Canadian census data.
