Major Investment in Public Safety Will Bring Approximately 600 Officers to South Mississauga
Councillor Stephen Dasko is pleased to announce that today the Region of Peel has successfully finalized the acquisition of land for a new Peel Regional Police division to be located in Lakeview Village, marking a significant milestone for public safety in Mississauga’s southeast community.
Division 14 will bring approximately 600 police officers and support personnel to the area, significantly increasing police presence and enhancing public safety for residents throughout Ward 1 and surrounding communities.
For several years, Councillor Dasko has been working collaboratively with staff from the Region of Peel, Peel Regional Police, and Lakeview Village representatives to help bring this important project to fruition.
“Public safety continues to be one of the top priorities I hear about from residents,” said
Councillor Stephen Dasko. “Listening to our community, I have consistently advocated for increased police presence in our area. This new division is a major investment in the safety and well-being of our residents.”
The future division will be strategically located within Lakeview Village, one of Canada’s most innovative redevelopment projects. By locating the new division within this growing community, the project combines innovation, community building, and public safety, creating a stronger foundation for the future of Mississauga’s waterfront.
“This announcement will demonstrate what can be achieved when partners work together toward a common goal,” added Dasko. “Bringing a Peel Regional Police division to Lakeview Village will not only strengthen public safety but also support the existing neighbourhoods and the continued growth and success of the community.”
Additional details regarding the division, including timelines and future planning milestones, will be shared as they become available.
Residents are encouraged to stay tuned for a formal announcement and further details to follow.
