In a significant boost to India’s railway infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple railway projects across the country via videoconferencing on Monday.The initiatives aim to enhance connectivity, streamline operations, and promote regional development.
Among the highlights of the event was the inauguration of the New Jammu Railway Division, a landmark addition to the Northern Railways. This new division is expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve passenger services, and bolster connectivity in the Jammu region.
In Telangana, PM Modi inaugurated the Charlapalli New Terminal Station, a state-of-the-art facility designed to cater to the growing passenger traffic in the region. Located in Hyderabad, the terminal is equipped with modern amenities and is expected to decongest existing railway stations in the city. This project is going to strengthen the connectivity within Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and their neighbouring areas. It is expected to stimulate local development through trade, transport infrastructure improvement, and the creation of new employment opportunities in the area.
Additionally, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Rayagada Railway Division Building, part of the East Coast Railway zone. This project marks a significant step toward improving administrative efficiency and infrastructure development in Odisha, addressing the growing demands of the region’s rail network.
