Police set up command post in Richmond Hill as search continues for missing 17-year-old

York Regional Police have established a command post at 12125 Yonge Street as they continue to search for 17-year-old Shu Tong, described as a “vulnerable” missing person.

Shu was last seen around 9 a.m. on Monday, October 27, walking near Yorkland Street and Brookwood Drive in Richmond Hill. Police say she has not contacted her family since and that they are deeply concerned for her well-being.

She is described as 5-foot-3, weighing about 120 pounds, with brown eyes and long, straight black hair typically worn in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, blue cargo pants, and light-grey sneakers.

“She has made no contact with her family, and they are concerned for her well-being,” police said in a statement.

York police are asking residents to remain alert and check home security cameras, dashcam footage, and outbuildings for any signs of the missing teen. A large police presence will remain in the area as search efforts continue.
