Republic Day, celebrated every January 26, marks the adoption of India’s Constitution in 1950. President Murmu addressed the nation, lauding the contributions of farmers, labourers, scientists, and the youth, especially young women, whose efforts are shaping the nation’s future and driving its global economic influence. She also highlighted the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) accomplishments, particularly India’s achievement of becoming the fourth country to conduct a successful space docking experiment.

President Murmu also touched upon the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, which surpassed its target of planting 80 crore seedlings ahead of schedule, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s environmental campaign. She emphasized the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of truth and non-violence, stressing that rights and duties are interdependent. She extended her congratulations to all citizens on this significant day in India’s history, as the country continues to strive toward fulfilling Gandhi’s dreams for a better, more just world.
