Parakram Diwas: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary, and called upon people to stay united in pursuit of ‘viksit Bharat’ and warned them against the forces seeking to weaken the country and break its unity.
Netaji Jayanti or Netaji Shubas Chandra Bose Jayanti, which is widely also known as Parakram Diwas is a celebration of the life and legacy of India’s prominent figure Subhash Chandra Bose. Annually, it is celebrated on January 23 and serves as a reminder of his unwavering dedication to India’s fight for Independence.
Bose’s life is source of continuous inspiration for people
PM Modi addressing a ‘Parakram Diwas’ event held in Cuttack to commemorate Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary in the city of his birth, said, “Today, on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the entire country is remembering him with reverence. I pay my respectful homage to Netaji Subhash Babu. This year the grand celebration of Parakram Diwas is taking place at the birthplace of Netaji. I congratulate the people of Odisha and the Government of Odisha for this. A huge exhibition related to Netaji’s life has also been set up in Cuttack. Many heritages related to Netaji’s life have been preserved together in this exhibition. Many painters have painted pictures of Netaji’s life events on canvas.”
