Taylor Swift opens record-breaking Eras Tour in Toronto with six sold-out shows and special dedication to Canada

Taylor Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in Canada on Thursday, performing the first of six sold-out shows in Toronto. The concert, held at Rogers Centre, began with “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince” and quickly transitioned into her hit “Cruel Summer,” with thousands of enthusiastic fans singing along.

Throughout the nearly three-and-a-half-hour show, Swift performed songs from each of her albums, changing costumes to match each era. Fans belted out hits like “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “Look What You Made Me Do,” while Swift took breaks to express her love for the Canadian crowd.

During the performance of her 2020 Folklore album, Swift made a special dedication to Canada. She described how the album’s themes felt connected to the Canadian wilderness, saying, “It just feels like we’re returning the Folklore era to where it belongs.”

For her “surprise” songs, Swift treated fans to a mashup of “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys” and “This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things,” followed by a piano mashup of “False God” and “’tis the damn season.”

She ended the night with “Karma” from her Midnights album, adding a playful twist to the lyrics with a reference to her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce.

This concert marked the first of six consecutive sold-out shows in Toronto, with fans eagerly securing tickets and accommodations for the highly anticipated performances.
