Toronto Police Constable Marc Pinizzotto, age 43, of the Emergency Task Force was shot on the morning of June 11th, while executing a search warrant connected to an ongoing national security investigation into the March shooting at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto.
According to reports, the search warrant was linked to the investigation into a March 10 attack on the U.S. Consulate in downtown Toronto.

PM Carney released the following statement on Facebook: “This morning, a Toronto Police Officer, Constable Marc Pinizzotto, was killed in the line of duty. This tragedy follows the death of OPP Constable Tarun Bali on Tuesday. Canada mourns the loss of these brave officers who dedicated their lives to protecting their communities. My prayers are with their loved ones, their fellow officers, and their communities in this time of grief.”
The investigation is ongoing.
