Toronto Police To Reveal Details Of ‘Ghost Gun’ Seizure In Project Cluster

The Toronto Police Service is set to unveil details of a major investigation into the manufacturing and trafficking of so-called “ghost guns,” as part of a probe known as Project Cluster.

Police say the force’s guns and gangs task force has been leading the investigation, targeting the growing threat posed by untraceable firearms—often assembled using 3D-printed components or parts purchased online.

A press conference at Toronto Police headquarters will outline the results of the operation, including any seizures, arrests, and the scope of the network involved.

Chief Superintendent Joe Matthews of Detective Operations, alongside Inspector Steve Matthews of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force, will address the media and provide further insight into the case.

“Ghost guns” have emerged as a growing concern for law enforcement agencies across Canada, as they lack serial numbers and are difficult to trace—raising alarms about their potential use in organized crime and violent incidents.

More details are expected following the official briefing.
