7th Jan: Borussia Dortmund are keen on signing Marcus Rashford, who has been out of the Manchester United squad for a month. According to The Athletic, the German club is competing with AC Milan and Juventus to secure the forward’s services.
Rashford’s contract with United runs until the summer of 2028, making a permanent move unlikely in the winter transfer window. However, Dortmund hopes to arrange a season-long loan deal, similar to their 2023/24 agreement with United for Jadon Sancho.
The 27-year-old last played on December 1, scoring twice in United’s 4-0 victory over Everton, which marked manager Ruben Amorim’s first league win. Despite spending his entire career at United, Rashford has reportedly hinted at wanting a “new challenge” amid rumours of a fallout with the coach.
