The Brampton Wolves bounced back with a win, and the Bangla Tigers climbed to second place on the points table as the Global T20 Canada 2024 entered its second week of intense cricket at the CAA Centre in Brampton.
On Wednesday, July 31, there was a lot on the line for the teams in action. Bangla Tigers Mississauga secured a 4-wicket victory over the Surrey Jaguars, while the Brampton Wolves regained form with a 6-wicket win against the Vancouver Knights.
Vancouver Knights opted to bat first and relied on a late boost from Scotland’s Richie Berrington, who remained unbeaten on 38, and Pakistan’s Asif Ali, who smashed 36 off just 17 balls. The pair lifted the Knights from a shaky 90/4 in the 16th over to a total of 149/4 with an unbroken 59-run partnership. In response, David Warner kickstarted the Wolves’ chase with a quick 25 off 20 balls, but a series of wickets threatened to undo their efforts before they eventually secured the win.
