Y Media Big Shot: PSL 2025: Yasir Khan, Ubaid Shah star as Multan Sultans defeat Lahore Qalandars by 33 runs

22 April: Multan Sultans clinched a convincing 33-run win over Lahore Qalandars in Match 12 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, held at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Batting first, Multan posted an imposing 228/5, courtesy of a blazing 87 off 44 balls from opener Yasir Khan and a late flourish by Iftikhar Ahmed, who smashed 40 off just 18 deliveries. Yasir and skipper Mohammad Rizwan (32 off 17) provided a solid foundation with an 89-run opening partnership in just seven overs. Usman Khan also contributed a handy 39 from 24 balls.

In response, Lahore Qalandars fell short, managing 195/9 in their 20 overs. Despite an aggressive 50 not out from Sikandar Raza and a 43-run knock by Sam Billings, the Qalandars struggled to keep pace with the high required rate. Fakhar Zaman (32 off 14) gave them a quick start but regular wickets derailed the chase.

Ubaid Shah led the bowling charge for Multan with figures of 3/37, while Michael Bracewell and Usama Mir chipped in with two wickets each. Josh Little and David Willey claimed one wicket apiece.

Earlier, Rishad Hossain was the most successful bowler for Lahore, picking up 2/45. Shaheen Afridi, Asif Afridi, and Sikandar Raza also took a wicket each.

Despite the win, Multan Sultans remained at the bottom of the PSL 10 standings with two points from four games, while Lahore Qalandars maintained their position in third place on the table.
