August 13: The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has postponed its decision regarding Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s appeal for a joint silver medal. The Indian Olympic Association announced on Friday that the new verdict date is set for August 16. Originally, the CAS was expected to release its ruling on August 13.
Phogat’s appeal, which was filed on August 7, contests her disqualification from the Olympics. The disqualification occurred after she exceeded the 50 kg weight limit by 100 grams, resulting in the revocation of her silver medal by the Olympic committee.
