The Toronto Police Service has arrested ten people in connection with five separate shooting incidents, one robbery, and a stolen vehicle investigation, including a mass shooting at a pub in the area of Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive on Friday, March 7, 2025. An eleventh suspect remains outstanding.
In total, investigators have laid 203 charges, including 24 counts of attempted murder. Four firearms were recovered during the course of the investigations, including two during the arrests of those allegedly responsible for the March 7 pub shooting.
“This is the result of a thorough investigation – knocking on doors, chasing down leads, talking to witnesses. I’m incredibly proud of our members, who left no stone unturned in their determination to bring dangerous suspects to justice and prevent further harm,” said Chief Myron Demkiw. “This kind of brazen violence is completely unacceptable. Gun violence has no place in our city, and we will continue to use every tool we have to stop it.”
Following the shooting on March 7 – where nine people were shot, some sustaining life-altering injuries – a dedicated investigative project team was established. Working closely with law enforcement partners, investigators began to identify individuals believed to be responsible. As the investigation progressed, connections were made between the mass shooting and a robbery in Mississauga and several other previously unsolved shooting and firearm discharge incidents in Toronto.
This was a complex and resource-intensive investigation. Search warrants were executed in Toronto, Brantford, and Caledon, with support from our policing partners, including York Regional Police, Durham Regional Police Service, Halton Regional Police Service, Brantford Police Service, and the Centre of Forensic Sciences.
“This was a terrifying series of events for the victims and for our city – a group of individuals opening fire in public spaces, seemingly without hesitation. Our investigators from the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force followed the evidence wherever it led – across city lines and jurisdictional borders – and they never slowed down or gave up,” said Superintendent Paul MacIntyre of Organized Crime Enforcement. “With the support of our partners, we were able to make significant progress. I want to thank our members for their dedication and determination, even as this investigation continues.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
