The much-anticipated sequel to the 2012 romantic comedy Cocktail has been officially confirmed by the filmmakers, with production expected to begin soon.
The buzz surrounding Cocktail 2 intensified after celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania—wife of director Homi Adajania—shared a glimpse of the script on her Instagram story this Saturday. Captioning the post with “Let the prep begin,” Anaita hinted that the film’s shoot may be just around the corner. While the makers have yet to reveal plot details or an official cast announcement, reports suggest that Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna are being considered for the lead roles. Directed by Homi Adajania, the original Cocktail starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty.
The film was both a critical and commercial success upon its release in 2012, and its sequel is now one of the most talked-about upcoming projects in Bollywood.
