Costco shoppers feeling the strain of rising grocery prices will soon get a modest break, thanks to a new perk for executive members.Starting June 30, Costco and Instacart will offer a $10 monthly credit to executive membership holders in Canada and the U.S. for same-day delivery orders of $150 or more, Instacart announced in a press release this week.
The credit applies to orders placed through sameday.costco.ca or Costco via Instacart, which has partnered with the warehouse retailer since 2017 to provide delivery services.A personal executive membership, which costs $130 annually (excluding tax), includes benefits such as a two per cent annual reward (up to $1,250), service discounts, and two membership cards.
While Canada’s overall inflation rate has dipped to 1.7 per cent, grocery prices remain elevated, with food purchased in stores rising 3.8 per cent year over year, according to Statistics Canada.
