We are pleased to honour and recognize Dr. Mohamed Lachemi, President and Vice-Chancellor of Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). Dr. Lachemi, who has served as president of TMU since 2016, has played a key role in the university’s transformation into a global leader in higher education. His term has been deservedly extended until 2026. A civil engineering professional, Dr. Lachemi has launched significant initiatives such as the Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst and the Future Skills Centre and has been instrumental in securing approval for new law and medical schools at TMU. He also serves on the boards of Rogers Communications Inc., DMZ Ventures, and other prominent organizations. In 2022, he was appointed to the Order of Ontario. Today, Dr. Lachemi is also being presented with the King Charles III Coronation Medal, recognizing his outstanding contributions to education, leadership, and community service.
