Garry Bhaura has officially assumed the role of chair of the Canadian Real Estate Association following the organization’s annual general meeting this week.
A broker-owner based in Brampton, Ontario, Bhaura brings more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. He previously served as president of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board from 2018 to 2019 and has held multiple roles across TRREB and CREA committees.
Bhaura has also been recognized for his contributions to the sector, receiving the Community Service Award from the Real Estate Institute of Canada.
Joining him on the leadership team are Chair-Elect Darin Germyn, Vice-Chair Luc Woolsey and Immediate Past Chair Valérie Paquin.
The 2026–2027 CREA board also includes regional directors representing British Columbia, the Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, alongside several directors-at-large, reflecting national representation across Canada’s real estate sector.
Bhaura’s appointment comes at a time when Canada’s housing market continues to face affordability pressures and evolving regulatory challenges, placing CREA’s leadership at the centre of key policy and industry discussions.
