The Global Business Forum is underway in Banff, Alberta, bringing together political, business and industry leaders to discuss how organizations and governments can navigate growing global uncertainty.
Now in its 27th year, the annual conference is being held at the Fairmont Banff Springs under the theme “thriving in chaos.” Forum co-chair and former Alberta lieutenant-governor Lois Mitchell said participants are gathering at a time of significant turmoil and disruption in the international order.
Discussions are expected to cover a wide range of issues affecting Canada and the global economy, including international security, strained Canada-U.S. relations, artificial intelligence and the future of space exploration.
The speaker lineup includes Artemis II astronaut Jeremy Hansen, former Canadian ambassador to the United States Kirsten Hillman and Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy. Senior executives from Shell Canada, Canadian National Railway and Telus are also scheduled to participate and offer perspectives on the challenges facing businesses in an increasingly uncertain global environment.
