Health Canada recalling 68,000 garage heaters because they are starting fires

Affected Product This recall involves the Mastercraft, Profusion Heat, Prestige, and Matrix 4800W 240V Portable Garage Heaters. The recalled products have Intertek (ETL) certification file number 3153457. The model number, certification file number and manufacturing date in format MM-YY can be found on the label affixed to the back of the heater.Filter items

Issue

The recalled heaters can overheat, posing a burn and fire hazard.

As of August 17, 2023, H.E. Industrial Ltd. has received 10 reports of the product overheating, with 3 incidents of the product catching fire and damaging property in Canada. No injuries were reported.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to the place of purchase for store credit or to obtain a replacement unit. Proof of purchase is not required.
