India praises Trump’s role in brokering Gaza peace deal

India has commended U.S. President Donald Trump for his leadership in brokering the Gaza peace agreement , calling it a “landmark initiative” that has reinvigorated regional diplomacy.

Speaking at the UN Security Council , India’s envoy P. Harish said the deal represents “a vital step toward lasting peace” and credited Trump for “his instrumental role in bringing both sides to the table.”

The agreement, signed in Egypt, outlines a 20-point plan for reconstruction and coexistence between Israel and Hamas, with mediation support from Egypt and Qatar.

India reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution and pledged continued humanitarian aid to Palestine, noting more than $170 million in assistance and multiple ongoing development projects.

Harish emphasized, “Now is the time for all parties to support peace efforts rather than derail them. The recent progress must translate into durable political commitments.”
