December 2024: The Maharashtra government, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, expanded its Cabinet on Sunday at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Nagpur. A total of 39 ministers from the Mahayuti alliance, which includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Shiv Sena, were inducted. This Cabinet expansion marks an important step in strengthening the state’s governance after the alliance’s victory in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections. The new Cabinet reflects a balanced representation of the three major partners in the alliance.
Key Leaders in the Maharashtra Cabinet
The newly expanded Maharashtra Cabinet features several prominent leaders from the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP:
- BJP: Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Girish Mahajan, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, and Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.
- Shiv Sena: Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Sanjay Rathod, and Uday Samant.
- NCP: Hasan Mushrif, Aditi Tatkare, and Dhananjay Munde.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, with the presence of senior alliance leaders, including Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.
