Peel Police Tackle Crime Surge at Dundas and Hurontario Area: Over 50 Arrest Warrants Executed, $30,000 in Drugs Seized

Region of Peel – Officers from the Community Incident Response Team (CIRT) at both 12 and 11 Division have been working in partnership on a community safety initiative addressing ongoing complaints in the Dundas/Hurontario Street area of Mississauga.

These complaints pertain mostly to the business plaza on the east side of Hurontario Street and include trespass concerns, liquor offences, drug trafficking and other criminal offences.  

Over the last year there have been two individuals stabbed in the area and a reported incident in which a firearm was pointed at a citizen.

Since the start of 2024, police have responded to over 170 calls for service relating to the plaza and surrounding area.

Responding to calls for service and proactive policing efforts have resulted in the following:

  • 50 Arrest Warrants executed.
  • 20 Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) Arrests.
  • 40 Liquor License Act/Trespass to Property Act Provincial Offence Notices issued.
  • 2 Criminal Code Search Warrants executed.
  • $30,000 of drugs seized
