Brampton, ON – March 2025 – Punjabi Community Health Services (PCHS), a pioneering non-profit organization that has been serving the community for over 35 years, is set to host its 23rd Annual International Women’s Day Gala on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Grand Empire Banquet & Convention Centre in Brampton.

This highly anticipated event brings together community leaders, businesses, and individuals to celebrate the achievements of women while raising funds to support essential programs that help some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Supporting Critical Programs for Those in Need

PCHS provides culturally responsive health and social services, specializing in mental health, addiction recovery, senior care, domestic violence support, newcomer settlement, and family wellness programs. The funds raised from this gala will directly support vital initiatives, including:

  • Langar on Wheels – Delivering warm, nutritious, and culturally appropriate meals to over 600 vulnerable seniors, ensuring they do not go hungry.
  • Sahara Mental Health & Addictions Program – Providing tailored counseling and recovery services for individuals and families struggling with mental health and substance use.
  • Project Khushi – Offering intervention and advocacy for women facing crisis, helping them build safer and more independent futures.
  • Newcomer Settlement Services – Supporting immigrants with employment assistance, housing resources, and social integration.
  • Health Promotion & Prevention Programs – Raising awareness and providing services for chronic health conditions affecting the South Asian community, including diabetes, heart disease, and mental wellness.

A Night of Celebration with a Purpose

The PCHS International Women’s Day Gala is more than just a night of entertainment; it is a call to action. The evening will feature dinner, live performances, awards recognizing outstanding women, and inspiring speeches, including a keynote address from Sukhi Dhillon, a community leader, educator, and advocate for South Asian representation and women’s empowerment.

“This is our only fundraiser of the year, and every dollar raised goes directly into expanding and sustaining critical programs that serve our community’s most vulnerable members,” said Amandeep Kaur, CEO of PCHS. “By attending or sponsoring this event, you are not just celebrating women—you are actively contributing to services that transform lives.”
