Islamabad United continued their dominant run in the Pakistan Super League, securing a convincing 47-run victory over the struggling Multan Sultans to remain undefeated in the tournament. Chasing a daunting target of 203, the Sultans looked promising at 92-2 in under 10 overs, but a sharp dip in momentum saw them collapse to 155 all out in 18.4 overs. Opener Muhammad Rizwan top-scored with 38, but the increasing required run-rate and tight bowling proved too much for the side.

The star of the evening was West Indies pacer Jason Holder, who dismantled the Sultans’ middle and lower order with an impressive 4-25. Earlier, Sahibzada Farhan continued his purple patch with a solid 53 at the top, building on the century he struck in the last game. Islamabad posted a strong total of 202-6, helped by Colin Munro’s quickfire 48 off just 25 balls, while Haider Ali and Holder contributed 33 and 32 runs respectively.

Multan’s bowling attack, led by England’s Chris Jordan and David Willey, tried to contain the damage with figures of 2-41 and 1-21, but lacked the support to restrict the in-form Islamabad side. With this win, Islamabad United have now won all three of their matches, while Multan Sultans are yet to taste victory after two outings.
