22 August: Region of Peel – Uniform officers from 11 Division located a loaded firearm and laid numerous firearm related charges after investigating a suspicious vehicle in Mississauga.
On Monday, August 19, 2024 at 9:25 a.m., 11 Division patrol officers attended a call for service in the area of Godwick Drive and Atwood Lane in Mississauga in relation to a suspicious vehicle. On the arrival of police, the vehicle attempted to ram a police cruiser before the two occupants fled on foot. One of the occupants discarded a loaded 9mm Glock handgun and a large quantity of crack-cocaine in a bag. In addition, multiple sets of fake Ontario license plates, and a vehicle key-programmer were located in the stolen vehicle.
As a result, Woody Meky Francillon Saintelmy, a 27-year-old male from Quebec who was on two prior release orders, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Firearm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer Service
- Possessing Automobile Master Key
- Possession of Break In Instruments
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Tampering with Vehicle Identification Number
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Fail to Comply with Release Order x 2
He was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
An arrest warrant was issued for the second occupant of the vehicle who has been identified as Christoffer Richard, a 27-year-old man from Quebec. Christoffer Richard was also on two prior release orders as well as a probation order and numerous weapon prohibition orders. He is wanted for the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Firearm
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer Service
- Possessing Automobile Master Key
- Possession of Break In Instruments
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Tampering with Vehicle Identification Number
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Breach Probation Order
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order
