Provincial Election Poll Shows Strong Lead for PCs

With just over a week remaining before voters head to the polls, the latest survey indicates that the Progressive Conservatives continue to hold a double-digit lead over their closest rivals.

The survey, conducted among 929 Ontario adults on February 15, 16, and 18, found that 45.8% of decided voters support the Progressive Conservatives, while 29.7% back the Liberals. The New Democratic Party has the support of 15.9% of respondents, while 6.7% favor the Green Party.

Among both decided and undecided voters, 41.4% expressed support for the Progressive Conservatives, 26.8% backed the Liberals, 14.3% chose the NDP, and 6.1% supported the Greens. Additionally, 1.9% indicated support for other parties, while 9.7% remained undecided.

The survey analysis highlights that the Progressive Conservatives have maintained their lead with less than ten days left in the campaign. Since tracking began on February 6, their support among decided voters has remained stable, fluctuating between 43.8% and 46.4%.

In terms of leadership preference, 41.2% of respondents consider the current premier to be the best candidate to lead the province, giving him a 17-point advantage over the Liberal leader, who is the choice of 24.4% of those surveyed. Meanwhile, 13.9% favor the NDP leader, and 7.5% prefer the Green Party leader.

While the Progressive Conservatives lead across all regions of the province, the race in Toronto remains close. In the city, 36.9% of respondents support the Progressive Conservatives, compared to 34.8% for the Liberals, 21.6% for the NDP, and 4.6% for the Greens.

In the Greater Toronto Area, the Progressive Conservatives hold a significant lead, with 54.9% of voters in the region supporting them, followed by the Liberals at 26.3%, the NDP at 11.7%, and the Greens at 6.4%.

The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
